Everyone involved with Ayrshire Sands is a bereaved parent or grandparent and understands how it feels to lose a baby.

Ayrshire Sands holds support meetings on the first Monday of every month (except January) in the Education Suite at Ayrshire Maternity Unit, Crosshouse Hospital between 8.00pm and 10.00pm.

These meeting are to help anyone who had been involved with the loss of a baby. Whether you are a parent, grandparent, sibling, other family member, or a friend, you will find a warm welcome. The meetings are very informal, you do not have to stand up and introduce yourself, in fact you do not have to talk at all, if you do not want to. We also have the use of a small room at the end of the corridor, so if you would prefer somewhere quieter this can easily be arranged. If you would like to come to a meeting but don't want to walk in by yourself, we can arrange for someone to meet you at the unit entrance.

If, at the last minute, you cannot come for what ever reason, please do not worry, we have all been in the same position and know how hard these steps are to take.

If you feel you would like to talk to someone but cannot face coming to the hospital for the meeting, we can arrange a home visit from our befrienders.

If you require any help at all please give us a call.
